I purchased this inverter - a 3000watt w battery charger and transfer switch freom the Inverter Store a/k/a Aims Power Inc.I returned it 3 times due to defect with low battery alarm, overheating and faulty ground circuit. I had to pay to reship the defective units 3 times. The 3rd time they said they couldn't find anything wrong with the unit. I certainly found something wrong with each of the 3 units - perhaps their technical department is also questionable.

Purchased inverter 2 years ago. First, the remote failied. Aims replaced the remote. Unit worked well but after about 25 hrs of intermittant use, the unit simply "fried" according to a repair tech. The problem is we only used it seasonally for a couple of months off and on during summer. The unit use was definately low load. Nothing heavy was used, all wiring was correct. Unfortunately the warranty expired during the second season of cabin use. Buyer beware.

Ref: AIMS PWRIC3000 Inverter/Charger: I bought this unit about 2 years ago to provide a power backup for my sump, and it failed a couple of times without really being used. The first time it failed within a year and AIMS gave me a new one under warranty. Now 1 year after that (2 yrs total) it failed totally. Luckily we haven't had water in the basement that it would be needed, because it wasn't reliable enough. I am now searching for a more reliable unit from a more reliable company.
