I use this all the time and it's excellent for travel because it works both in the US (110 V) and overseas where there may be 220V. It is light and compact. There is no switch to change to adapt to different voltages and it *just works* when you plug it into 12/110/220 volt. Very nice that you can charge two devices at the same time, although you will need to provide the second charging cord yourself.

I will start off by saying that this could potentially be a great dual function charging device, but the construction seems to be cheap and, depending upon the location and configuration of your cigarette lighter in your vehicle, it may not fit snuggly and break apart if jiggled too much.I purchased one of these last year, and it seemed to work great for several months. From Day 1 it never seemed to fit snugly into the lighter jack, but I loved the dual function as both an AC and DC charger. One day it broke apart upon removing it from the DC jack in my truck. I was able to piece it back together but it blew the 15 amp fuse for the DC jack and I needed to replace it. In my truck, the cigarette lighter jack sits very low, pretty much at the same level as the cup holder. To use the charger and enjoy a beverage at the same time, I would have to angle the charger to the side. Because the majority of the charger protrudes from the jack, and because this thing has some weight, it would constantly jiggle in my truck and come loose if a cup were placed there. So after coming apart a second time and blowing a second fuse, I decided to order another one around 4 months ago. I reasoned that maybe the first one that I purchased just had faulty construction, and that I would just be careful and not futz around with this new one once plugged into the DC jack. On my drive into work this morning I noticed the phone was not charging and that I smelled a very faint electrical smell. Of course when pulling the charger out it fell apart. I put it back together, changed the 15 amp fuse again (luckily I have extra fuses in my truck from the last time this happened), and confirmed that the charger is working again.As soon as I finish this review i will be orering a different dual USB, AC/DC charger with a more streamlined design. It is really unfortunate because this reviewed charger does charge well both AC and DC, and it does fit into a coat pocket. So perhaps this would work for someone who has their cigarette lighter jack in a more ideal location and will not have things brushing up against it----however it still is somewhat heavy and this may contribute to it pulling out no matter where you stick it. I have been very careful with this second one, trying not to ever adjust it or move it too much. I just wont deal with this crap anymore-I do a lot of driving and I need a working charger at all times. It's ridiculous. So buyer beware...I am giving 3 stars because when it worked, it worked great, and the design is nice. I considered giving 2 stars based on my experience but I will allow for the fact that the location of my cigarette lighter jack and its proximity to the cup holder may have contributed to my problems.

Purchased several of these for our kids for Christmas. Every single one of the kids plug in to the phone part will either not work or has to be wiggled or adjusted just right for it to work! Junk!
