It is often difficult to review items purchased from Amazon because the request for a rating comes soon after purchase. This item is a good example. The primary function of a UPS is to provide back up power in the event of a main power failure. We have not had a power failure since installing, so I can't comment on the primary function. What I can report is that the device is ultra easy to install and has ample outlets to which devices needing reserve power may be connected. There are also multiple outlets for devices that should have surge protection.
