Product Description
Made by one of the leading manufacturers in the industry, the Goldsource STU series step up/down voltage transformers offer you a safe, reliable, affordable & convenient solution to converting voltages from 110-120 volts up to 220-240 volts or from 220-240 volts down to 110-120 volts for both home use & industrial applications.
The STU-750 is rated at 750 watts maximum. It features a heavy-duty cord with a standard US 3-prong plug plus a free American to German outlet plug adapter. There are a total of three outputs on the front panel. Two are grounded outputs, one designated for 120 volts with a US standard outlet, the other for 220 volts only with a universal outlet. The last one is a 5V standard USB jack, a unique feature of the STU series & 1st in the industry. And most importantly, all three outputs can be used simultaneously & continuously.
For safety, it's recommended by the manufacturer that the voltage transformer's maximum power should be equal or greater than the power rating of your appliance multiplied by 1.5. For example, if you have an appliance rated at 100 watts, you will need to pick a transformer with a maximum power of 150 watts or greater.

By D. Cohen
While this volt converter seems to work just fine when plugging in only one device into it at a time, having lived overseas now for years, I have grown accustomed to buying one, high voltage converter and plugging a 110v surge protector into it for use with an array of lower voltage devices or appliances. However, when you plug a surge protector into this converter, with nothing plugged into it at all, it blows the main circuit to the house every time. I have tested it with numerous differnt surge protectors and in several differnt houses and everytime, its the same thing. So, if, like me, you are looking for something you can use for plugging in multiple items at the same time, this item is not for you.

I've bought this voltage converter with the KitchenAid KP26M1XER stand mixer which actually reqires 600 Watt for operating, since I'm living in Europe, I'm using this converter while using the stand mixer and it did the job so far... Works perfect when used for one machine at a time...

I moved to the US from the UK, and took my PS3 and some other small electrical items with me. The PS3 won't work with a simple plug adaptor (the green light came on, but nothing happened), so I found out that I needed a voltage transformer. I bought this size (750W) because it has enough voltage to spare (apparently this is recommended). The unit is smaller than I expected - I plugged it into the mains, plugged the PS3 into the UK power socket on the front, switched it on, and it all worksI leave it on for a few hours at a time and it runs very quietly (a very faint hum). I left it on overnight once while the PS3 downloaded content, and it was still running fine in the morning. We have also used this with a food mixer we brought over from the UK.Instructions were very clear - when it arrived I had to set it to transform from 110 to 240 - it was a simple matter of moving a pin on the back of the box.It also came with 2 spare fusesUPDATE - TWO YEARS LATERThis is still running really well. We switch it on every morning and then off again at night, but I don't think that's really necessary. If the house is absolutely silent you can notice a slight hum from this unit but otherwise no complaints. The UK PS3 is still using it every day as is our UK wireless router.
