I bought this to test home brew electronic projects. I have also tested car audio systems. The power supply is very stable with plenty of available current. Price point was ok for my test bench.

I bought this unit around Christmas 2012 but was not able to use it until last month. When we hooked it up all was good for a couple hours and then it started smoking and shut off. I wanted to return this unit for another but too much time has elasped, according to policy. It is supposed to be warranteed for a year but the seller has not given me the manufacturers address. I even offered that if they replaced it, I would buy a second unit from the. They did not agree. Since I was going to have to eat this expense, I decided to open the unit to see what was going on. We are electronic engineers from the old school. When we opened it there were three crimped wires and a transformer bracked broken. that may have caused this issue that was done during assembly. The unit does not have fuses or a reset, if it did we may have been able keep this unit, rather than throwing it in the junk pile.

This is a very nice piece of equipment & cost effective solution for testing prototypes or light duty lab work. If you require heavy duty use in lab testing, I would recommend stepping up to a higher priced unit.
