This is just what I needed! A power supply to run my test track for my model rr engines, and to test loads on other small DC engines. For the price its a great supply! Knobs seem to function fine, You can tune the current up or down, and the amps. I see a lot of bad reviews on these, not sure why! If you need an ultimate supply for a lab...... why buy a cheap one? For the price and for use as a hobbyist, this is a GREAT deal! I would not hesitate to buy it again.

This power supply is pretty good for the price you pay. It's not a high end unit, but it is effective and will suffice for most small projects and tests.Pros-Low priced, I didn't pay a lot for this unit.-Durability, I've used this unit for extended durations at various amperages and voltages for up to 2 weeks at a time.-Low variation in power output. The unit has not varied more than 10mA or 0.01v during extended duration under load, which is much better than I had expected from this unit.Cons-The instructions included with the unit are very close to useless and do not provide a great deal of information regarding the specifications, operation, and maintenance of the unit.-Fan and cooling system is noisy. While irritating, it does not affect the operation of the unit.-Included test leads are flimsy, short, and the alligator clips are too small.While the unit does work consistently at all the ranges I have used, I would have liked to have higher amperage available to me. This is not so much an issue with the unit as much as poor product consideration on my part, consider the power requirements for your applications carefully before you decide what power supply to purchase.Primarily I have been using this unit for electroplating of small parts, circuit testing, electric motor troubleshooting, and other minor projects with low power requirements.

The power knobs can be difficult to adjust to where you want it, and the whole system seems a bit... approximate.I have not done a power quality test on it, but it seems to supply reasonably close to the displayed voltage.You may have to filter/condition the power for some projects, but as a general purpose supply it should be fine.Be warned: This takes up a large amount of space. Ensure you have a wide desk!
