I purchased two of these inverters as they were inexpensive and I wanted a backup. The first one worked for about a month and then quit. The second literally smoked upon plugging in. Powerbright did initially respond to the first failure but now is not responding. I don't think there is adequate circuit protection in these. I would not recommend them if you need reliable power.

We just turned the shop over to 100% solar on a 24V system; 2 250AH AGM batteries, a couple 240W panels and a 30 amp MPPT charger. Although this seems to suck about 20 watts in idle, it's not an issue. I have yet to find any of my shop tools this thing can't run (including the compressor!).

I've been using this inverter for about a month now, and I don't have any complaints. Of course with cheap inverters like this there's always the worry that it won't last much longer than the warranty, so my opinion may change. So far tho, we've been using it every day and I haven't had any trouble with it powering my off-grid home. The included wireless remote is a nice touch.
