I bought this little guy because I had an xbox 360 that i wanted to take with me over seas. I was really careful in researching all different types of voltage down converters since my 120 volt US xbox can't handle the 240 volt Middle Eastern power. So it was a joy to see that this little gizmo offered not only the down conversion i needed, but was also rated for up to 1875 Watts of power as well (way more than enough for my 120 Watt power supply).However, now that I am half way across the world and was finally ready to use the down converter, lo-and-behold my power supply got FRIED!I have taken every precaution, researched every bit of information, and even quadruple checked that the settings on the down converter is correct, and yet still my power supply is not dead. I'm just lucky my xbox machine wasn't plugged in itself at the time, but now i have a console without any way to power it.I highly advise against buying this thing. I paid full retail price of 40 dollars for it, but even if i got it for cheaper it still ruined my 400 dollar gaming system. There is simply no way for you to test if it works, and if you do end up with fried equipment because of it, there is no real way to get your money back (your sending the device back will cost you more in postage than its actual worth). It will be a lose lose situation. I suggest you fork out that little extra cash for a down converter that is actually worth it and doesn't feel like a flimsy piece of plastic that feels like its about to break apart in your hands.

The product came in an opened package like it was used but I didn't have time to return it so took a chance and took it to Paris. The converter worked just fine on my laptop and a couple other electric items I had taken with me.

Traveling to the Middle East required an electrical adapter in order to use standard USA household items. This converter worked very well. If there is one nit, it's that when plugged into the host recepticle it seems too heavy to be supported by its plug and sags. That's the reason for 4 stars instead of five.
