A trucker friend of mine has gone through two of these units in the last couple of months. As an electrical engineering tech with a lab in my basement, he brought them to me in order to find out what was going wrong with them. After dismantling the first unit, I found that one of the main input wires on the DC ground side was cold soldered into the circuit card, had subsequently worked its way loose and was floating around inside the box. For this lack of quality in the assembly process and even with just a sample of one, I would not recommend that anyone own one of these units. I'd be too concerned it would start a fire. Concerning the rest of the design, the main circuit card was improperly designed to handle the power. It was as if cramming everything into such a small form factor took precedence over safety, durability and functionality. On the underside of the card are many wires soldered onto traces in order to boost the current handling capabilities of the embedded traces. Not an entirely lame way to do it, but too lame for my liking. Another item I did not like was a fiber washer that was used in 2 heatsink mounting locations under the card. In one instance, there was no relief to the via, so the screw and thereby the heatsink they were presumably attempting to electrically isolate from the trace remained connected to the circuit. Poor electrical design, poor assembly, poor quality control, cute aesthetics, poor performance.

I originally bought this for work purposes so I can run my computer in my vehicle and at getting another one and put in my personal truck and I can practically brew a pot of coffee with it works good when you're out the woods by yourself and you want a hot cup of coffee I wouldn't go run a microwave with it though
