It also reduces electronic interference, and is perfect for operating sensitive electronics such as medical devices, audio or video equipment, computers and HDTVs. Appliances with dimmers, speed controls, and certain battery chargers require pure sine to operate. The electronic appliances run cleaner, cooler and quieter when running on pure sine power. Wagan pure sine inverters are especially designed to increase the efficiency and running time of electronic appliances and motors. Our inverters operate at less than 3 to 5 percent of total harmonic distortion on average and 90 percent efficiency across the line.

5Great Inverter For RV
By Dan
This is a great inverter for my 11 foot truck camper. My first pure sine inverter was a Xantrex PROwatt 2000. After it failed I returned it on RMA. The replacement also failed and luckily the Xantrex customer service was excellent. I purchased the Xantrex from JTH Electronics and their customer service was also great. Thanks to Tami and the staff at JTH! I really liked the Xantrex because of its size, however for whatever reason it just didn't hold up. Since the majority of my camping is to remote fishing spots, I really wanted an inverter that I could run a microwave and CPAP without having to run a generator. I've used the Wagan EL2205 for two seasons and have had no problems. Typically, I'll arrive at my spot in the evening and use the microwave to heat frozen dinners. Then use it to run the CPAP over-night. My power bank is four 6 volt Interstate golf cart batteries and one 180 watt solar panel. I've easily spent 5 days in the middle of nowhere without the need to run the generator (solar panel in full sun). The only time I run the generator is for the AC. The Wagan EL2205 came with a wireless remote, which I don't really use, but I suppose for some it's an added convenience. The Wagan has a thermostatically controlled fan and does come on under heavy load, but for lighter loads it never comes on. Because of the mounting location in my application, I have noticed that the fan will come on when the unit is powered off when it's in direct sun for a while. The first time this happened I thought it had failed, but I soon figured out what was happening. The four power outlets are close together, so if you have multiple plugs that are larger than what you normally find you may not be able to use all of the outlets. This is not a problem for me since I only use one. It has a digital display that alternates between the supply voltage and percentage of load. Overall I think it's a great inverter and would recommend it for RV use.

3Its good while it works...
By KG9E
This review is based on 2 of the Wagan Pure SineWave inverters, the 2000 watt version Wagan EL2205 Elite 2000 Watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter and the 1500 watt version Wagan EL2204 Elite 1500W DC to AC Pure Sine Inverter.I originally bought the 2000 watt version for use full time in my motorhome( [...] ). It worked great and powered everything but the air conditioner - computer, microwave, vacuum cleaner, TV, refrigerator, power tools, you name it. I liked the remote keyfob for on/off control and the display alternating between battery voltage and power drawn. However, after a year it failed. I opened it up to see if there was anything obviously wrong with it like a fuse or pregnant capacitor. Nothing obvious, but I did discover that a cooked trace on the circuit board had been repaired with a short length of wire. I assume this had to be done at the factory, since I had bought the inverter new. However, I did like the Wagan inverter so I bought the 1500 watt version to replace it. I liked it just as well, until it too failed after 1 year. One year is all I seemed to get out of the Wagans. Now, I am using a Cobra 1500 watt modified sine wave inverter Cobra CPI 1575 1500 Watt 12 Volt DC to 120 Volt AC Power Inverter that I have had for 5 years and I am quite happy with it. I don't think I'll buy another Wagan inverter.oh, one more thing - for you ham radio operators, I found the Wagan PSW inverters to be very RF noisy especially on 40 meters and 15 meters.

5Wagon EL 2205 Rating
By Dave Holmstrom
I have used this inverter in my truck to run my fridge and my microwave. I had a cheaper inverter and I noticed that the clock on the microwave would lose time. Also the fridge always was on the warm order so I think the power was low. I don`t run the truck at night now and the batteries are still strong now. I would tell people to get one of these.
