Product Description

Nature Power 2-Watt Solar Battery Maintainer takes the sun's energy and turns it into electric current and delivers a small current to your rechargeable 12-volt batteries to promote the longevity and health of the battery. The current will compensate for small key off draw on your battery from items such as displays, stereo and alarm systems. The Solar Battery Maintainer also combats the effects of cold weather on your battery ensuring quick starts through the winter months. This solar panel is a way to keep your vehicles batteries topped up during storage. A great alternative to traditional battery chargers since no AC power is required, you will not need to run extension cords or use up valuable driveway space for stored vehicles. The Solar Battery Maintainer may also be used on boats, power sports vehicles such as ATVs and sleds, as well as farm equipment such as deer feeders, lawn mowers, and battery backup sump pumps. Completely weatherproofed this solar panel can be installed outdoors permanently or temporarily using the included poles for tilting the solar panel towards the sun. Mounting hardware is included. A blocking diode built within the wiring protects your batteries draining due to reverse current. Nature Power solar panels feature a sturdy aluminum frame and toughened glass top and are safe for temperatures ranging from -40 to 175-Degree Fahrenheit. 11 feet of cabling let's you place the solar panel in the best position to receive sunlight and attaches to your battery using either battery cl-amp or a 12-volt car plug, both are included. Low current from this solar panel make it safe for your 12V battery, no charge controller required. Installs with ease and is maintenance free. The Nature Power 2-Watt Solar Battery Maintainer is covered by a 5 year warranty.

4Pretty basic, and it's a Maintainer not a Charger...
By FunkeeChild AKA Jose Mateos
I tested it and it's putting out something but barely enough to read on a multimeter set to 20 DC. Did a continuity check to make sure it was actually working and it is. It does work much better in full sun than in cloudy conditions. I have two batteries on my boat and keep this one hooked up to my "house" battery used for stereo, bilge, lights, lighter, ect...I have a second starting/trim battery. I recently purchased the 90 amp battery isolator NOCO IGD90HP Grey 90 Amp High-Performance Battery Isolator over a VSR as it is cheaper and seems to be working fine, even on an outboard 140 hp evinrude, although I still trickle charge it once a wk (if I'm going to take it out). Like the title states this is a battery maintainer, it may be able to maintain/charge a battery powering a few LEDs but not going to charge a larger 12V battery. You will still need to charge the battery if an alternator isn't hooked up or if you have two or more batteries being charged by a smaller alternator or stator. I will say it can take a beating as it fell off the top of my boat a few times with no damage and has been outdoors for several wks with no serious signs of wear.SOMETHING TO TAKE NOTE OF: There isn't really any way to mount it, ther is but not out of the box. There are two short bolts without heads that thread into nuts on the back of the unit, they are about 4 inches in length and you can unscrew them and slide them up and down to make it tilt one way or the other. I was planning on mounting it to my boat, but that idea didn't work because I have a boat cover on most of the time so it is currently hanging off my ladder

5So far works just fine.
By Carson
I use this to keep a charge on a battery hooked to a fuel pump. So far the unit has kept up just fine with the charge on the battery. This is a far easier and hassle free way to maintain the battery versus extension cords and such.
