Power Bright series of step up/down voltage transformers offers you a safe, reliable, affordable & convenient solution to converting voltages from 110-120 volt up to 220-240 volt or from 220-240 volt down to 110-120 volt for both home use & industrial applications. The VC1500W is rated at 1,500 watts maximum. It features a heavy-duty cord with a standard US 3-prong plug plus a free American to German outlet plug adapter. There are a total of two outputs on the front panel. Two are grounded outputs, one designated for 120 volts with a US standard outlet and 220 volt only universal outlet. For safety, it's recommended by the manufacturer that the voltage transformer's maximum power should be equal or greater than the power rating of your appliance multiplied by 1.5. For example, if you have an appliance rated at 100 watts, you will need to pick a transformer with a maximum power of 150 watts or greater.

My wife moved from Saudi Arabia to New York and she brought a lot of electrical stuff with her like some Rowenta iron, Braun blender, juicer, mixer sets and few other items that she spent a lot of money on. We needed a voltage converter to be able to use these items in New York and after some research I found this item and it works for us. Only drawback is that its heavy and not as portable as we would like it to be. Overall, we are happy with it.

Heavy - that's the reason I bought it! For 1500W transformer, it is suppose to b heavy, otherwise it's made by cheap stuff and easy to broke and not good for what ever you plug in.I plug in a 1200W Soy milk maker, no noise is from the transformer. Not much heat come out from it either. Great product.

Just got this big boy for my wife's Braun 1000watt hair dryer that is only sold in Europe. The transformer works perfectly and can handle the hair dryer without hesitation. I have to agree with another reviewer about the buzzing sound that is emitted from the transformer, but this is not much of an issue since the hair dryer is much louder :) Also please note that this is a large and heavy transformer and not the most aesthetically pleasing to have lying around the house.
