1Error E03 Not Repairable By Xantrex (Schneider Electric)
By Just trying to help
Yes, like so many others I have received the dreaded Error E03 after the one year warranty was up. The product was used minimally (since it was only for my sump pump). It states in the manual for error E03: (Have the damaged product serviced by a qualified technician). When I called customer support they told me the unit is unrepairable. But how can that be I asked.Supports response was the manual doesn't state the damaged product be serviced by a qualified Xantrex technician (I repeat Xantrex technician) but only states qualified technician. If Xantrex refuses to repair it, and they tell me I need to buy a new one (30 percent off with the loyalty discount) the product in my opion is a faulty design. I asked them if they had any known problems or if they redesigned the current ones. They said no, everything was fine.As on today May 17, 2011 they do not list the Powersource 1800 on their website but customer service told me it was still in their current product lineup. The only reason I wrote this review was to inform new customers of what I have gone through. It was only when I tested it that the E03 came on. If I did't test it would be a disaster waiting to happen (flooded basement). When you buy a poduct that states it is repairable and they change it to unrepairable, I have to say the company is less than honorable. Shame on you Xantrex (Schneider Electric) for not supporting your products.I know batteries go bad and electronics fail, so normaly I would chalk it up being just a lemon. But in this instance I think it something more.

5Worth every penny
By Brian Dishaw
I ordered this battery thinking that my sump would run on it for 5 - 6 hours during an outage. So this weekend during some heavy rains I let the sump pump run on the battery during the afternoon. After 8.5 hours the battery life was at 50%! This completly exceded my expectations. The product is very easy to use, just plug it in and forget about it.

4Backup Sump Pump Power, Pleased with purchase
By C. Steinlage
Our house has two sump pumps in our finished basement. I purchased the Powersource 1800 to be a backup power supply during a loss of electricty. I chose this after considering a DC powered back up sump pump. The only advantage the DC powered pump had was that it would have been a complete spare pump should one of the main pumps fail. With the Powersource 1800 backup I have backup power not only for the sump pump, but also a power source to power radios, computers, phone, small electric heater, etc. in case of an power outage emergency. There was no mess to install, since you just plug it in. The battery is rated to last as long as the DC battery I was considering so I don't expect that to be an issue.
