Product Description

Go Power! 50 Amp Transfer Switch is used to hardwire inverters into a system where there is an alternative source of AC. This transfer switch is made to only allow one source of AC power to pass through it to the loads and can handle up to 50 Amps of service. This ensures that the inverter will not be damaged if the generator or utility power is hooked up while the inverter is running as well as well as contains all instructions.

1Cheap
By Jeremy
This transfer switch looked ok, but after hours of trouble shooting I couldn't get it to work properly. I bought two of these for my fifth wheel to switch between shore power, my generator, and my inverter. The problem is that when you put a starting load on the switch and the power drops momentarily it won't keep the switch on that power source. In my case every time I would try to use the air conditioner it trip the transfer switch making it useless. It also had a hard operating on the inverter. I returned these and went with the parallax 50 amp transfer switch which work great and don't have a cheap plastic case. They also have a delay bypass switch when using an inverter so you don't have to wait the 30 seconds like on the generator. This go power switch does not have a delay bypass. This switch is actually a furrrion switch that has been relabeled by go power. Look else ware if you are going to use this for an rv.

I got the first one and was making noise. The company immediately send me another and it has been working since then. Great thing to have.

1Wrong Voltage Rating
By Tony Gbenga
I bought this transfer switch for changing over from utility power to my generator and vice-versa. I was very satisfied with the features of this device as described on amazon and felt it was what I needed. I live in Nigeria, where the utility supply voltage is 230V 50Hz, so I always want to ensure the products I'm buying from amazon are rated for 240V.When the transfer switch arrived, I checked again and confirmed that it was rated for 240V (Outside on the cover and inside, under the wiring diagram). Before installing, I decided to test it by connecting power to the utility terminals. The mains contactor closed (as expected) with a very loud humming sound and in a few seconds, I observed smoke coming out of the contactor. I quickly switched off power but it was too late. I unscrewed and brought out the contactor only to discover on the sticker on the side of the contactor (not visible normally) that it (the contactor) was rated for 110V.For me, returning a single defective item to the US will often cost me more than buying a new one. So I'll simply have to trash it.I hope anyone planning to use this for a 220V system will learn from this and look elsewhere for a more suitable product. I have rated it on star because it probably would have worked for some other people (in the US) but the fact is that it was not what was advertised.
