This is a simple, solid step-up (or step-down) transformer that works as expected. It hums slightly when on. It seems reasonably well made. The price was lower than the numerous apparently identical units available with different brand names printed on the faceplate. My only small quibble is that one of the two included replacement glass fuses was broken, probably crushed by the heavy unit shifting in the box during shipping. This is not a big deal, since the device uses only one fuse at a time, you will probably never blow the original one anyway, much less the replacement, and another replacement could be easily and cheaply purchased at any decent hardware store.

I bought this converter so I can use a portable, mini washing machine from the UK in the USA. It does its job. It's not even as heavy or big as I expected it to be. Good purchase.

did not work upon receipt. Did not want to return due to weight of item and shipping costs. Opened and found a soldered wire broken off (blue wire). Figured out where it went and reattached. Works now but i could see it had very poor construction quality. Would not buy again
