Product Description
Tripp Lite PR series DC power supplies convert standard 120 Volt AC (VAC), 60 Hz power into regulated 13.8 Volt DC (VDC) power; (12V DC output, nominal). PR series models are ideal for powering a wide range of equipment designed to run on 12V DC power, including CB, Ham and commercial/land-mobile radios, car stereos, amplifiers, and more. PR series models can also be used as general-purpose test bench power sources.

The PR60 DC power supply I have is connected to communications equipment and provides a very well regulated and a very clean rock solid output for my 40A peak demands. The PR60 also nicely responds to quickly changing current demands with minimal voltage deviation as is necessary when using SSB equipment. The only complaint that I have is minor, but it does bug me. The PR60 is promoted as a 60 amp power supply, but if the duty cycle exceeds 50%, the sustainable current output capability drops off to 40 amps according to Tripp-Lite's documentation...something I did not know until after making the purchase, but a problem I have yet to encounter. IMy point is that if it is advertised as a rock solid 13.8 vdc @ 60 amps, it should have been engineered to do just that 100% of the time without the fine print part being necessary. Nevertheless, I would have no problem recommending the PR60 for use in ham radio and the like.

I ran a 400 watt ham radio with this product and it worked fine. If you have decent SWR it will produce 400 watts from a rf amp. really liked this product!

The Tripp Lite PR60 60 amp DC PS 120 VAC input to 13.8 VDC output met our needs perfectly. We were replacing a much older model and it had same input/output requirements so there was no second guessing on our end. While it is larger than current competitive models, because we were replacing an exact system, we did not have to worry about compatibility issues.
