I purchased this item because I found a commercial LED golf sign I couldn't live without. I purchased it from the UK (the size was right) so I knew I would need a step up transformer. After plugging it in, it would turn on the sign, but only portions of the 5 flashing modes would operate. I looked back in the manual, (yes, I read it first) and it said "set the unit to your voltage". But nowhere did they say what to set...button, switch, knob...or? On the back was a recessed switch that I didn't realize was there or know what it was set to. It was hard to move, but in moving it, I realized it was set to 230vac. Duh! It was made in China for the Euro market, so NATURALLY, it would be set at their 230vac input. So, after I switched it into the 110vac, it runs the sign like a charm! It really DOES stink as one writer said. But after about 2 weeks of constant running, the odor is unnoticeable to the human nose. So, if you decide to purchase this one, look for that red switch on the back and move it the other way as far as it will go. Then take it to your garage, plug it in, and in to or three days, Pepe Le Pew won't be pewing any more.

Bought this transformer for my Christmas lantern i got from abroad. It works well and i was very satisfied with the service.
