Bought this power strip for my frig. Came home one night to find my 2 year old frig was not running. The frig is one of those electronic control units and we think a power dropout unsynched it. The power strip is the largest surge unit I could find and still fit in the cabinet space. Plus it is a metal unit which may not mean much but it says quality to me. The icing on the cake would have been a 90 degree AC plug but one cannot have everything.

Good sturdy power strip. Sideways outlets are a big plus. The switch goes on and off nicely, and the lights work. I can't speak to it protecting through legendary surges, but if ULTIMATE PROTECTION or w/e is your goal, you should probably spend more than 20 dollars on a surge protector.

However, this isn't perfect. It does not have the covers that slide over un-used outlets, and it does not have the flat plug. I would have rated this 5 stars if it had these 2 things. I couldn't tell what kind of plug it had from the photo when I ordered it. (I uploaded one myself).I use a TrippLite for my home PC and I am still using a metal Tripplite Isobar for 15 years at my job - it's weathered many storms and keeps on plugging along.This is a metal surge protector and seem very well-made and heavy duty. Plus from what I've read online, the joule rating for this is decent and the clamping voltage (RMS) is better than most in this price range.
