The unit sits nicely in the cupholder, but the fan is very noisy and the unit gets very hot to the touch.

Nice looking and convenient device. However it stopped working in less than a year. Save your money and buy something better.

This is a quality product. The USB sockets will charge without turning the unit on. But, when you do have to turn it on, the fan inside makes a small amount of noise. I guess it needs the fan to keep the electronics cool and make it last longer. So, I'm glad the fan is in there.
