Buyer Beware! The worst power converter ever!

This power converter is not only a complete waste of money, but also a dangerous one. I bought this for a cousin of mine who was visiting from South America. When she returned to her country, she used the converter to charge her laptop (which she purchased here in the U.S.). After only two weeks of use, today the thing started smoking and the plastic caught on fire, and then the entire house lost electricity. I will definitely never buy this product again.

Excellent

I used it in China and in the Philippines. Plugged right into 220 so I would have 110 for my electronics (iPad, iPhone and a PC). No issues at all and small. The last time I travelled I asked for a converter from hotel ... they were able to provide one but it was tech the size if a car battery and suspect at bet. I was very happy to find this mall portable converter.

it works for what I use it

I got this convertor to use a standard stationary phone abroad. it does the job right. the phone comsumes way less than 50W, might be 15-20, but the convertor is warm. in fact, it is warm even if just plugged to 220V with nothing to really consumes electricity from it -- that is the reason for 3 stars
