Wagan's EL2207 Elite 5000 Watt Pure Sine Inverter includes many useful features. It provides 5000 watt continuous power and 10000 watt peak surge power. It features 4 AC outlets, LED digital status display, wireless remote control, cables, high wattage output terminals, two cooling fans controlled by temperature, display mode indicator and fault indicator and a negative (black) connector and positive (red) indicator. Additional safety features include protections against overload, short circuit, overheat and low battery. An audible low battery alarm and automatic shutdown help protect the battery system. It's LED display shows DC voltage in and maximum load used. A wireless remote control has a 100 feet range, allowing for easy on/off operation for convenient operation in hard mounted setups. Three high wattage output terminals are located on the front panel. It is used to power AC appliances in your vehicle, at a campsite or at home as an emergency source of AC power. Wagan EL2207 Elite 5000W Pure Sine Wave Inverter27 May 20121. When you look at the back you see two battery post. One black and one Red. But there is no + and no -. I would expect to see such basic markings on such an expensive unit. The manual that came with the unit shows it backwards but the on line manual shows it the correct way. They must of fixed the manual.2. The unit came with four (4) Red and four (4) Black cables3. None of the cables had a fuse. I had to go out and purchase a fuse holder and fuse. They are not cheap. I would expect to see a fuse hold and fuse included with the unit.4. The battery post on the unit have no protective covers. I was also expecting to see some type of cover for them.5. After charging the batteries full (12.7 volts) and hooking a Kill-A-Watt up to it, I get readings in the Hz range from 59.9 Hz to 56.3 Hz. I would also expect the Hz to be maintained at 60 or 59.9 HZ steady at all times with a full charge or even with a 50 percent charge. I was surprised to see it jump around like that. Maybe it is normal, but the house Hz is always at 59.9 Hz.6. The unit will run all of my electric motors with no problems. Table saw, Chop saw, Grinder, Circular saw, Small table drill press, Electric drills, ETC, ETC, ETC...7. I am able to use the desk top computer and the black and white laser printer with no problems. As long as the batteries are charged up.8. I'm using the inverter now to write this review.9. The 56 inch HDTV and satellite receiver work just fine.10. I haven't tried the frig yet. The other half will not allow it. But when the power goes out she'll change her mind.11. I tried to turn on a heater but that draws a lot of watts and will drain the batteries fast.12. The real test will come when I have another power outage. Then I will find out for sure just how good this unit is, for I will be depending on it for everything.13. Over all - The unit is expensive but it has done what it is suppose to do. A 5000 Watt modified sine wave inverter did not run all of my electric motors. Only some smaller ones.
