Just what I wanted

With everything, you will never know what might happen such as loss of electricity. I wanted something that would charge the few electrical items that I have if that ever happens. This is my first power inverter, so far the EN900 works great. The LCD display tells me how much is being charged and I can charge 4 device at the same time. Doesn't have that annoying sound that my laptop cooler makes when its on, which is good. Also I love that it has 2 usb ports that I can charge with. Best of all it doesn't weigh that much maybe over 2lbs this way I can take it to go. Hopefully I wont have to use it but they do have a 2yrs warranty, not sure what it covers yet since I haven't read the warranty part , still just testing this baby out. Getting this was a good decision because its cheaper then getting a generator that's big and bulky, which I don't have room for.

Ever had a power outage? Ever wanted to use a Laptop in your car for an extended period of time? Ever needed to charge a USB device? All 3 of these things for me and I have tried quite a few inverters. One I had just blew up and the other stopped working. I think the problem is a lot of the time, they say these type of inverters will run certain things but realistically a lot won't. However this one, with it being 500 watt then it will comfortable run my laptop and also charge a couple of devices such as a Playstation Vita and a Ipod. In my home I tried it with a lamp and a laptop and it ran both. Realistically you couldn't really run a lot more than that.This has 2 options for connection to 12 volt sources, you can either use the cigar light socket or clip it on to a battery. If you are using a battery in your home when you have power outage then in my opinion a marine battery is better than a car battery.As far as build quality this is well made and weighs couple a pounds. I keep it in my car and I have one for the house for emergencies. I notice you can also get higher wattage versions of this item right up to 4000 watt so this is the smallest in this energizer range but more than adequate for smaller devices.
