Product Description
TriGear series step up/down voltage transformer supplies a safe, reliable, inexpensive, and convenient solution for voltage conversions. The transformer allows conversions from 110-120 volt up to 220-240 volt or from 220-240 down to 110-120 volt. This modification is applicable towards both home use and industrial applications. Rated at a maximum of 100 watts, the TriGear TG-100W features a heavy duty cord with a standard U.S. 3 prong plug. This package includes a free American to German outlet plug adapter. This unit features a total of 2 outputs on the front panel. The outputs are grounded with 1 designated for 110-120 volt on a universal outlet and the other supporting 220-240 volt with a universal outlet. These outputs can be used simultaneously and continuously. It's recommended that your voltage transformer's wattage be 50-100% greater than your appliance's wattage. Items such as TVs, power tools, and microwave ovens require up to 3 times the wattage displayed. This requirement is due to the power surge that occurs when the appliance is first turned on. If your equipment's wattage is not available, then you can still figure out the power rating you need by calculating your appliance's actual wattage using the following formula. Note: You will need your equipment's amperage and voltage ratings to calculate the wattage: Volts(V) x Amp(A) = Watts(W). For example: 120V x 1.5A = 180W, therefore recommending a 270W-360W transformer, unless the equpment is a TV, power tool, or microwave oven which recommends 3 times the wattage displayed on the appliance.

TriGear TG 100 Watt Transformer

This item has enabled me to use the European speakers I acquired from Germany. I have had them connected successfully for several days now, and they are functioning fine. The item is air-vented on the sides and does not appear to be running hot. It also seems to have a sturdy metal construction. It comes with 2 spare fuses, which hopefully will not be needed. It does have a 3-prong USA-type plug for the input, but also comes with an input adapter. I am giving this 4 instead of 5 stars because I have not had it long enough to rate durability.

I like this item, particularly after purchasing it.I tried it on many sets I have in the home, so it is a perfect and accurate.I used it for conversion from 240 volts to 110 volts and vice versa.Similar item I used is the charger of my laptop.The quality of the item above my expectation.The accuracy should be mentioned for new customers is very important.

Right out the box, I connected TriGear TG 100 to my portable European stereo speakers (that rivals Bose in sound reproduction) and listened to my favorite tunes! Just plugged it to 110-volt outlet and plugged in the 220-volts 50-herz speaker and listened - easy and perfect. The transformer comes with 2 fuses. I just got back from Germany 2 weeks ago after living there for 10 years. I am happy with this product and highly recommend it to anyone that need it.
